Hi again! Low on ideas, I scoured the internet and found a tag. I saw this on bookishandbright’s page – go check it out! It’s called the Reading Habits tag, but I don’t know who started it
1. Do you have a certain place for reading?
I can read almost anywhere, but I tend to gravitate towards my bed. I think that’s what the majority of people say, too – sorry for the unoriginal answer XD
2. Bookmark or a random piece of Paper?
Bookmark, 100%! I have a growing collection of about 30, and I always have one on me. (There’s a post on that coming soon!)
3. Can you stop reading anytime, or do you have to finish the chapter, page, paragraph etc.?
I almost always read in chapters, unless I’m falling asleep. Even then I finish the paragraph – do people actually not do that?
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I try not to – it doesn’t really work with me. However, if I’m reading something for school and it has a deadline, I may well read it throughout my meals.
5. Can you read while listening to music/watching tv?
Sort of. I can read if the tv is on, but I can’t watch it at the same time. However, it’s a lot easier when there’s no noise or a neutral sound like rain instead.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
I used to be a diehard one-at-a-time person, but recently I’ve really enjoyed being able to choose from multiple books. I tend to have at least a non-fiction, a physical fiction, and an audiobook on the go most of the time. That way I can read according to mood and energy levels.
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I think I covered this above briefly, but I can read ANYWHERE. Indoors, outdoors, in a cafe, while stretching, in the bath – I’ve even been known to read at a few parties. Whoops…
8. Reading out loud or in your head?
99% of the time, in my head. But sometimes I like to say a character’s dialogue out loud (I have no idea why) and I do enjoy reading aloud so I try to find someone to read to often.
9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Absolutely not. I can’t even check how many pages a book has without getting scared of spoilers.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
I’d prefer if the spine was kept unbroken, but I’m not bothered. I’m not going to affect my reading experience by holding the book just open enough to see the words – I’d rather just read normally.
11. Do you write in books?
No. However, I do use index markers whenever I’m taking notes for a review.
Does anyone share the same habits as me, or are you the complete opposite? Let me know! And for the record, anyone who wants to do this can consider themselves tagged!
